Help please!!!

July 24, 2008 · 29 Comments

My dear blog friends,

Iam trying to restructure my blog and add some more features.I wasted one hour trying to figure out things on my own, but my pathetic IT skills are not helping me one bit . So, here Iam, asking for your help.

Ok, here is the list of things I want to do. Please chip in with your solutions if you can:

1. On the top of my page, apart from ‘Home’ and ‘About’ tabs, I want to add some more tabs/buttons. One example is Nita’s blog where there are six green tabs with headings such as ‘why I blog’, ‘comments policy’ etc. How can I add these extra tabs at the top on my blog? Also, I have observed that in some of the themes, there are no ‘ Home and ‘About’ tabs on the top..instead they are located on right/left etc..how can you make sure that no matter what theme you use, tabs are on the top only?

2. Now, once I add these tabs, is it possible that I can write separately under each tab? I mean, let’s say I add a tab on books read/reviewed so that every time I read a book, I could write about it under that tab only rather than posting everything on home page…is it possible to do so? If yes, how?

3. Is it possible to have a different theme than the ones wordpress provides? Or atleast, a way to change the picture on the top of the existing theme..?

Thanks for your help folks!

Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na..

July 17, 2008 · 16 Comments

Jaane Tu.. is a resounding success in India and elsewhere. The movie has been unanimously liked by people and also by most of the critics. After hearing many positive reviews, I wanted to watch the movie. Especially since the  realistic portrayal  of college life was touted as the major USP of this movie , I got really interested to see how realistic it really was. And, there is a big reason for my interest.

For quite some time, in fact until recently, I was quite certain that the first story I will work on for my movie, will have a background of college life. In fact I had the story and my characters in my head for quite some time. And, one thing I was cent percent sure was that I will never compromise on how those situations and characters are written; They have to be absolutely realistic unlike the college kids and college life you see in Bollywood movies. Indo-US Nuclear deal

July 9, 2008 · 6 Comments

Suddenly, there is lot of hullabaloo regarding Indo-US nuclear deal. In the past two years, I read about it on and off without really understanding or analyzing the implications of this supposedly ‘historic’ deal. Now, when this deal seemingly brought the present Indian government to the brink of collapse, I really became curious to find out what’s the noise all about. After reading some articles online and discussing it with more informed friends of mine, I concluded that on paper it certainly looks like something which, in the long run, will prove to be a win-win situation for both India and US.  Of all the articles I read, I think the one below sums up everything very well and is a good starting point to read about various implications of this deal. Montreal revisited

July 3, 2008 · 8 Comments

Here are few impressions of Montreal seen by my very smart and talented cousins, who ,unfortunately, are very brave too. Brave because these girls have the courage to ride those extremely terrifying rides in the amusement park. Yes, Iam a sissy, when it comes to those rides..actually not a sissy, I basically believe in what Preity Zinta’s character said in DCH about rides..” those people who enjoy these rides arent mentally stable ” lol. Ok. ok..I did take some rides this time ( after my cousins’ absolute ridicule) and I somehow survived in the end..

The video below the collage is a short movie captured by us during the famous Montreal fire works festival. It was simply the best Fire works I have ever seen in my life..the background classical /Jazz music along with spectacular fire works made the whole experience very spiritual. I wish we had captured more of it.
