The Darjeeling Limited

I havent seen Wes Anderson’s earlier movies. I wish I had. Darjeeling ltd is one of the best movies I have seen this year..may be the best. Here comes the movie with a language of it’s own. The Syd field’s of the world be damned; The structure of the screenplay be damned;
Movie has it’s own language..it doesnt care about impressing you..But it touches you in a unique way; The humor is both absurd and uplifting..but isnt that how life is? You know RK Narayan and his humor..right? Well here you go..if you like his humor , you will like this one too…for sure.
The pace is such that till the end you want more..please give me more of their world you plead..You dont care what happens to people in the movie..You just dont..They die, they get lost, they are absurd..and hey, you dont sympathize or even empathize with them..but you still are infinitely interested in staying with them ..

Random thoughts

1. We have more than 5000 years of recorded history of civilization. Seemingly we have progressed quite a bit..Wheel, Jesus, Buddha, European Renaissance, machine, electricity, Einstein, Gandhi, Vaccination, Neil Armstrong, Internet, Botox…
But , isnt it strange that we are still struggling with fundamental questions of life and death?..We are still dying and we havent yet reached a consensus on what happens after that..Even after more than 4000 years since Krishna talked about soul and life after death, we are still not sure what exactly was he talking about… ..even after 2000 years when we were first told about last judgement day, we are yet to figure out if that’s really going to happen.
I wonder if , as a humanity, we are ever going to make it..

2. I think that there is too much mess in the world to ever get too relaxed and happy. I wonder if the more natural state, for me, is one of some anxiety and tension over man’s plight in this mysterious universe.

3. If there is a God, I think he is an underachiever.
